New edge processing LPR solution: Neural Edge by Neural Labs for Axis cameras

2020 will probably be remember as a hinge year in many aspects. Both of us human beings and companies have had to adapt to the new circumstances and challenges that this COVID-19 virus pandemic has caused.

At Neural Labs we decided to take advantage of the economical world pause to invest on new developments and improve the already known ones' quality with the aim of getting ready better and provide, as fast as possible, new solutions required in the new normality.

New functionalities developed for the LPR solution Neural Edge for embedded cameras also stand out. 

The traffic monitoring market has already seen the Neural Edge´s embedded cameras on internationally recognized firms. From December 2020, Axis brand's users and fans will be able to incorporate inside their cameras the powerful LPR technology designed by Neural Labs.

This represents an historic milestone requested by many clients during the last years. The benefit of 20 years' experience providing LPR and traffic monitoring solutions is inside the Axis cameras, pioneers in the IP field.

Therefore, Neural Edge both in for its Stop & Go version to access control and parking, and its urban traffic solution known as Urban Edge, will be available to be installed inside the Axis cameras with ARTPEC-6 and ARTPEC-7.

What advantages and functionalities from Axis with Neural Edge will the user benefit from?

-  Native integration with the Neural Server suite, Milestone Xprotect and VAST2.

-  Open and free SDK for integration managing communication protocols for FTP, Telnet, sockets in format XML or JSON, HTTP and HTTPS.

-  Several lists management inside the camera for the activation of rules, such as generating a digital output to open a barrier gate.

-  Automatic synchronization of lists between cameras for the installation of the vehicle control system without needing a server.

-  Whatsapp and/or emails alarm notifications from the camera. License plate correction and barrier gate opening from Whatsapp.

And what is almost the most important aspect, is the advantage of having direct support from factory. This, added to our known reputation in the market of never dismissing a project disregarding of the size, guarantee the success of our company's LPR projects.

At Neural Labs we work very closely with our projects. And this has been no exception. One of the most important cities in Argentina took the decision of updating technologically its security system based on video surveillance and LPR, to start processing LPR on the edge in the cameras the city already had and, also, incorporate new control points. Edge processing: is it the future?

It is evident that cameras are more powerful every time. They have more processing capacity and memory,  which allows them to undertake more tasks by themselves and they also differentiate them depending on their producers, trying not to enter on a competition only based on pricing.
